Earn Elite Points to upgrade to the next level

As a Club Iberia Plus customer, every time you fly or shop with partner brands, in addition to Avios, you earn Elite Points. These points will allow you to upgrade your Club level: the more you use the 90+ partners, the more points you accumulate to be able to access the Club's next level and enjoy its advantages. It's that simple!

Elite Points with your flights

You earn 1 Elite Point for every euro you spend on your flights, both on your ticket and on extra services like additional luggage and seat selection. Plus, you earn extra Elite Points based on your fare or cabin.

Elite Points with your purchases

Your purchases at any of the 90+ brands that are partners of Club Iberia Plus also help you level up: for every 10 Avios you earn with them, 1 Elite Point will be added to your account (up to 30% of the total to move up to the next level).

How many Elite Points do I need to upgrade my Club Iberia Plus level?

* In the last year between 1 April of the current year and 31 March of the following year. Of these flights, at least one must be with an IB code (operated by Iberia or another partner in the Club Iberia Plus programme) and have a fare that qualifies for Elite Points.

How many Elite Points do you get with your flight?

All flights, whether with Iberia or other oneworld carriers, will earn you Elite Points. However, not all flights give you the same amount of points. Depending on your destination, fare and the airline you have selected, you will earn a higher amount of Elite Points.

With direct flights operated by the Iberia Group with an IB code

You'll get 1 Elite Point for every euro spent on the following items:

  • The net cost of your ticket, i.e. the fare and the operator's charges.

  • Travel add-ons:* additional baggage, seat selection, cabin upgrades, etc.

  • Taxes and fees are excluded.

*Travel add-ons acquired after the purchase of your ticket will also give you Elite Points, regardless of the time of purchase.

You'll also have the opportunity to earn extra Elite Points when you book flights with Optimal, Comfort and Flexible fares, in Business, Premium Economy or Economy. You'll find all the details about these extra Elite Points below.

This table applies to flights with code Iberia (IB) or Iberia Express (I2), operated by Iberia Group or on flights operated by partner airlines in the programme.

On flights between Madrid and Barcelona with Air Shuttle fare, extra Elite Points will be 150 in Air Shuttle Comfort and 200 in Air Shuttle Flexible for Economy, as well as 300 in fare Air Shuttle Flexible for Business.

* On tickets purchased from Iberia Express (with code I2), the following equivalences will apply to the additional Elite Points: Classic-Optimal, Plus-Comfort and Flex-Flexible.

** Latin America comprises the following destinations operated by Iberia: Mexico, Central America, Caribbean (except Puerto Rico) and South America.

 

Exceptions to earning Elite Points on Iberia Group flights with IB code

For tickets where the amount is not available, for example, in negotiated fares or travel packages, the Elite Points to be earned will not be calculated per amount spent, but based on the following table:

In addition, with Biz Pro Fares, Travel Club, oneworld products and charter flights, you'll earn Elite Points based on the distance and cabins you fly in.

For reasons beyond the control of Club Iberia Plus, we sometimes cannot determine the accumulated spend on a flight. In such cases, points will be awarded as per the table, based on the distance and cabin.

With Club Iberia Plus partner airlines

British Airways (BA) and American Airlines (AA)

You'll get 1 Elite Point for every euro spent on the following items:

  • The net cost of your ticket, i.e. the fare and the operator's charges.

  • Airport taxes, fees and any other charges are excluded.

You'll also have the opportunity to earn extra Elite Points on each segment when flying in First Class, Business and Premium Economy.

On flights with a BA code, you can also earn Elite Points for the following additional services: extra baggage, seat selection and upgrades.

The accumulation principle remains the same: 1 Elite Point per euro spent, excluding taxes and fees.

Travel add-ons acquired after the purchase of your ticket are also valid for earning Elite Points, regardless of the time of purchase.

For reasons beyond the control of Club Iberia Plus, we sometimes cannot determine the accumulated spend on a flight. In such cases, points will be awarded as per the table, based on the distance and cabin of the oneworld products.

* Earning extra Elite Points each way in Economy will not be applicable in Economy Basic on British Airways and Basic Economy on American Airlines.

 

Vueling flights

Flights with a Vueling code (VY) or Iberia code (IB) operated by Vueling will generate Elite Points according to the total eligible spend.

You'll get 1 Elite Point for every euro spent on the following items:

  • The net cost of your ticket, i.e. the fare and the operator's charges.

  • Travel add-ons:* additional baggage, seat selection, etc.

  • Airport taxes, fees and any other charges are excluded.

*Travel add-ons acquired after the purchase of your ticket are also valid for earning Elite Points, regardless of the time of purchase. For flights with the Vueling code (VY) operated by Iberia you'll earn Elite Points according to the distance and cabin table.

Flights with oneworld airlines

With the rest of oneworld Allianceairlines*, you'll earn Elite Points, not based on the amount spent, but based on the distance flown, booking class and the cabin you're flying in.
